Hawai‘i Island ~ Kukaiau Ranch

Step back in time and experience the beauty of rare endemic koa trees, travel along the ancient Hawaiian "Umikoa Trail" to breathtaking views, and perhaps spot an endangered  'Io  (Hawaiian Hawk) or Pueo (Hawaiian owl).  With less than 10% of these forests in existence, guests will have an opportunity to become a part of Hawai'i's culture and history by planting a Legacy Tree.

The native koa tree is one of the signature trees of the Hawaiian forest, once reserved for use by Hawaiian royalty.  Experience your choice of two off-road adventures--a rare opportunity to see koa  in all stages, from seedlings to old-growth trees with beautiful sprawling branches that make up the Legacy Forest.

Booking a private tour ensures that you have a personal, deeply meaningful planting experience. Please call 1-877-707-TREE or email info@hawaiianlegacytours.com to schedule your private excursion.

A Field Trip To Remember

HLH believes that educating our young people about reforestation is one of the most important duties we have. We offer financial grant assistance to offset a portion of admission costs for any educational institution wanting thier students to learn about our program and the native species our islands are home to. Please call 1-877-707-TREE to schedule your field trip.
