We ask you to please bring sunblock, sunglasses, shoes suitable for walking outdoors in a natural environment, and clothing suitable for rain or shine; rain jacket and pants are a good idea.
What is your cancellation policy?
Tours cancelled at least 48 hours in advance of scheduled tour departure time will receive a refund of the tour price minus any credit card processing fees. Tours cancelled within 48 hours of scheduled tour departure will not receive a refund.
What is the weather like?
Our welcome center is at historic Umikoa Village, elevation 3200 feet, and our tour takes us up to elevation 5000 feet. We are building a rain forest, and certain times of the year can be very rainy, sometimes chilly. Summers are generally spectacularly sunny, but showers are possible.
That being said this is Hawaii, and we are comfortable most days.
We take planting tours rain or shine.
How many trees have you planted so far?
As of June 2017 we have planted over 350,000 King Koa and over 24,000 Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood at Kukaiau Ranch.
Can I revisit my trees after I plant them?
Yes! Our one of a kind tracking system keeps a record of every single tree planted. We know all about your tree and are happy to guide you to it when you come back to the Legacy Forest.
How do I prove that I am the sponsor/planter of my tree?
When you plant a tree in the Legacy Forest you receive a Certificate of Sponsorship that details your tree's unique ID number and GPS coordinates, as well as your custom inscription.
